A walk down memory lane

So, I asked our conference chairman Tony Hayes, "How long have you been chairing this event?"  In typically thorough fashion, he responded by sharing conference brochures dating back to 2004.  The conference was then just the ATM and Debit Forum.  How quaint.

Take a look at the cover.  I didn't work on this conference, but it's an event I feel very connected to, having been its program manager for the past six years.  When I saw this cover, I cringed the way you might when you see pictures of your parents sporting the latest fad from their times. The color scheme alone!

Check out the topics.  Check 21 went into effect.  And there's plenty of talk about making innovation work for you, and consolidation and acquisitions.  Some things never change.  But there's not a single mention of mobile payments.

Attendance was about 400 and in the past few years we've built it to be more than a thousand.  Progress?  From a conference perspective I'd definitely say, "yes!"  What does everyone think about the industry's progress since then?

Welcome to the blog!

Welcome to the official ATM, Debit & Prepaid Forum blog, where you'll find the latest info on getting the most of the conference. That means if you're a speaker, a sponsor or attendee, you'll find some tips and learn a little more about the conference as we get to the big October date.

Stay tuned!
